The Hamilton Carhartt Retailer of Excellence Award, named after Carhartt founder Hamilton Carhartt, who first began making durable coveralls for railroad engineers in 1889, is the company's top recognition of retail excellence. Retailers are selected for exhibiting the highest mark of excellence in promoting the Carhartt brand through their sales, product positioning and store marketing to increase sales and awareness of the Carhartt brand. Each year, the "Hammy" award is presented to top-performing retailers for the year prior. This year's winners will be announced in July.
